Our Founder
Grant Preston
Grant Preston (born in 1963, San Francisco, USA) is a financial technology thought leader with a strong foundation in mathematics and a forward-looking vision in AI. He is a pioneer in AI-powered financial decision-making and is praised as "the bridge figure connecting quantitative models and market behavior psychology." After graduating from the Mathematics Department at the University of California, Berkeley, Grant Preston went to the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom to pursue a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. There, under the mentorship of quantitative finance pioneer David Harding, he proposed the groundbreaking ** “Dynamic Equilibrium Model” **, which is widely used in the collaborative research between high-frequency trading and macroeconomic policy modeling. After returning to the United States, Preston briefly worked with Morgan Stanley's quantitative team and Silicon Valley Tech Fund before shifting his focus to a grander mission: advancing the financial system from "passive reaction" to "intelligent anticipation" through AI.

ZERO AI: Building the Next Generation "Predictive Financial System"
In 2017, Preston assembled a diverse team from MIT, Stanford, Wall Street, and Silicon Valley to launch the flagship financial AI project—ZERO AI. This system aims to simulate and predict the nonlinear response mechanisms of global markets, reconstructing the way we think about financial investments at the intersection of AI, financial engineering, and systems physics.
Preston's philosophy: AI is a Tool for Clarity, Not Control.
According to Preston, "The market is not lacking in models; it lacks the ability to understand the behavioral logic behind them." In his view, AI is not meant to replace human investors but to help us discern the causal relationships amidst chaos.
His core creed is: “The financial market is a tug-of-war between behavior and logic, and the value of AI lies in clarifying cognition.” This is precisely the design philosophy behind ZERO AI—combining advanced mathematical modeling with an understanding of human behavior to make investing more forward-looking, precise, and controllable.
Preston ‘s Influence: Quantification Is Not Just About the Market, But Also the Future
From a math prodigy in San Francisco, to a pioneer of financial philosophy at Cambridge, to today’s creator of AI investment systems, Preston has always believed: the future of finance depends not on faster trading, but on deeper understanding. **ZERO AI is the trailblazer of this revolution in comprehension.
His philosophy: AI is born for understanding
Preston once said, “AI is not meant to replace traders, but to help them gain a clearer understanding of the essence of market behavior.” To him, the ultimate value of AI lies not in its execution capabilities but in its insight; not in speed, but in its understanding. This is also the mission of ZERO AI—to ground decision-making in logic and make investments more forward-looking.
